Stars Serving Opportunities

A CCV Stars Coach leads athletes to grow in their sport, technique, and character. They are the central point of contact for kids and parents, lead practices and games, and facilitate the MTAG Huddle each week. Both Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are available. Sports vary by location.


Coach Requirements:

For All Coaches and Guest Service Volunteers:

  • Abide by and implement the Stars Standards for Behavior
  • Complete CCV Security Screening Process
  • Successfully complete MinistrySafe training

Head Coach:

  • Baptized by immersion
  • Attend CCV's Starting Point
  • Sign the coach commitment form
  • Regularly engage in CCV weekend services

Assistant Coach & Minors:

  • Attend CCV's Starting Point
  • Sign the volunteer commitment form
  • Consider attending a CCV weekend service
  • Respect and protect the unity of CCV

Thank you for your interest in serving with Stars Basketball. Below is a brief description of the commitment details.

Recreational - This division is a developmental league that focuses on developing the fundamentals of basketball, learning the rules and strategies of the game, making friends, and having fun.

  • Boys & girls 4 years old – 8th grade
  • Practice: once a week for one hour at CCV, M-Th
  • Games: 8 Saturday game days
  • Pre-season coach training offered
  • Season practice curriculum available

Competitive - This division is designed for players with some playing experience and a basic understanding of the game of basketball and its rules and tactics.

  • Boys & girls 3rd – 8th grade
  • Practice: once a week for 90 minutes, M-Th
  • Games: 9 Saturday game days
  • Pre-season coach training offered
  • Season practice curriculum available
  • All head coaches get free certification/membership through AZ Basketball Coaches Association

Recreational

  • Boys & girls 4 years old – high school
  • Two separate seasons each year, spring & fall, 9-10 weeks each
  • Practice: once a week for one hour at CCV or nearby
  • Games: 8 Saturday game days
  • Pre-season coach training offered
  • Season practice curriculum available

Competitive- This league is designed for players with some playing experience and a basic understanding of the game of soccer and its rules and tactics.

  • Boys & girls 3rd – 6th grade
  • Two separate seasons each year, spring & fall, 11-12 weeks each
  • Practice: once a week for 90 minutes, M-Th
  • Games: 9 Saturday game days
  • Pre-season coach training offered
  • Season practice curriculum available
  • All head coaches get free licensing through US Youth Soccer

Club

  • Boys & girls U6-U18
  • 24-30+ week season depending on age, fall through spring
  • Practice: 2-3 times per week for 60-90 minutes at CCV or nearby
  • Games: League games + tournaments around the valley
  • Coach training offered
  • Teams selected by tryout process

Offered at Peoria, Surprise, East Valley, & Laveen campuses

Flag Football

  • Recreational Football League
  • Boys & Girls 4 years old – 6th grade
  • Two separate seasons each year, spring & fall, 9-10 weeks each
  • Practice: once a week (M-Th) for 1 hour at CCV or nearby
  • Games: 8 Friday game nights
  • Pre-season coach training offered

Competitive - This league is designed for players with some playing experience and a basic understanding of the game of football and its rules and tactics.

  • Boys & girls 3rd – 8th grade

  • Games: 9 Friday game nights
  • Pre-season coach training offered
  • Season practice curriculum available
  • All head coaches get free licensing through USA Football

Do you enjoy working with your hands? Volunteers are needed to help with general repairs of nets, painting the fields, and general clean-up. No matter your level of experience, there are serving opportunities for you.

During the week and on the weekends we need volunteers to help people feel welcome while they are at the Stars fields. From welcoming families to the Stars fields to answering questions about CCV or CCV Stars, if hospitality is your gift there are volunteer opportunities before, during, and after all of our games and practices.

Each week there are needs in many behind-the-scenes areas to provide an experience of excellence for all those that come to CCV Stars. Work alongside our Stars staff in the office to help complete various tasks and projects.

Our sports fields host hundreds and sometimes thousands of guests to watch Stars practices and games. Due to the nature of sports, conflicts can arise. Security volunteers would primarily add a presence to the sports fields and also be available to support as conflicts arise.


Security Requirements:

  • Complete CCV Security Screening Process
  • Successfully complete CCV SafeSport training
  • Baptized by immersion
  • Attend CCV's Starting Point
  • Sign the coach commitment form
  • Regularly engage in CCV weekend services
